Biography
David P. Aurelius was born in 1952. After graduating from Luther College with a degree in art with an emphasis in pottery in 1974, David and his wife, Jeanne, founded Clay Bay Pottery in Ellison Bay, WI. David attended the Pond Farm summer workshops founded by Marguerite Wildenhain between 1972 and 1980. David also attended professional development workshops with Dean Schwarz at the South Bear Creek Art School in Highlandville, IA, and the University of Minnesota. In addition to managing Clay Bay Pottery, David and his wife have been artists-in-residence at schools across Wisconsin. They have led large-scale mural projects for churches and community non-profit organizations, but most of their projects have been in elementary schools.
