John Carlander

John Carlander earned his B.A. degree from Concordia College in 1965 with a major in art and a minor in philosophy. Carlander earned is M.F.A. degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1968 with a major in painting and a minor in art history. Since graduation, Carlander has held several teaching positions including the following: Ashland University (Ashland, OH) from 1967-1969); Assistant Professor at Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) from 1969-1972; Associate Professor of Art at Augustana College (Sioux Falls, SD) from 1972-1980; and Profesor of Art at Westmont College (Santa Barbara, CA) since 1980.

Carlander has exhibited paintings in many shows over the years, including twice at Luther College.
