Gustavo Fares

Gustavo Fares was born in 1957 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His artwork has been in both private and public collections in the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, and France. Fares holds a Master's degree in painting and lithography from West Virginia University. Fares also holds a Ph.D in painting and drawing from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Professor of Painting and Drawing Degree from the "Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredon" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His post-graduate studies were completed at the "Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes Ernesto de la Carcova". Fares typically uses traditional materials in his artwork such as oil and acrylic on canvas and paper, and computer generated collages. Fares has taught painting and drawing at Lynchburg College, Lawrence University Bjorklunden Summer Seminars, and Semester at Sea program.
