Peder Hegland

Peder Lee Hegland, born in 1950, graduated from Luther College in 1972. He apprenticed with Mary and Peter Deneen from 1975-79 and attended the summer Pond Farm workshops founded by Marguerite Wildenhain during the summers 1976-1980. Hegland founded the Peder Hegland Pottery in Sartell, Minnesota. The wheel-thrown stoneware bowl donated by Hegland to the Pond Farm Collection has hand-built alterations. It is painted, incised and textured. Created in 1999, it was glazed with wood ash glazes.
