Ron Stewart was born in 1941. As a young artist, he began building his reputation for work depicting western scenes, historical, wildlife and animal subjects. His oils, watercolors, drawings and sculptures are sold in a variety of galleries and purchased for private collections.
He has received many awards for his work including first place prizes and gold medals. His art has been featured repeatedly in the publication Southwest Magazine. Stewart's art has been described as breathing "life into the dusty pages of western history, be it the bawl of longhorn cattle, the war whoop of the red men, or the mountain men in his wilderness solitude."
