Gwendolyn Schmitz-Jones

Biography
Gwendolyn Schmitz-Jones was born August 5, 1944. In 1966, she received her BFA degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. She earned her MA and MFA degrees from Northern Illinois University in 1967 and 1971 respectively. In 1987, she received an MA in Library Science from Northern Illinois University. In 1981, Jones joined the staff of the American Library Association in Chicago, IL, where she worked for the Committee on Accreditation. Later Jones was a medical librarian at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL. She previously had worked at the Elmhurst Public Library as an assistant cataloger from 1972-1976 and taught in various other venues providing mini-courses and continuing education classes.
